Kindle
Just loaded up my Kindle with a couple of books and two blogs. Got it for my birthday and its proving to be really great. Have been recommending it to lots of people. James' Alice is going travelling soon and she is really keen to get one. I am following her blog "Alice in Wander-Land".

Photos of our new house
First things first - put up the greenhouse and house the tomatoes and cucumbers!
Back garden.
The renovated pond - with waterfall.
Walnut Cottage
Having seen that my last blog was in January, I have decided to take this blogging more seriously and do it much more often! So we have now accomplished the move from Chatham to Essex and are now living in Great Totham which is near Maldon. We are very happy in our new house and garden. And so we should be, having spent about a year looking for the perfect property. The summer is a good time to move, and we are out in the garden a lot. Have spent a bit of money on the pond getting it ship shape. It makes a lovely feature in the garden. A couple of days after we moved here (27 May) I became ill. Two months later we are still not sure what it is. But I have lost a lot of weight mainly because I can't eat without feeling nauseous and tired. Gradually getting better though. Seeing a consultant at Broomfield Hospital tomorrow (Dr Khin) who might be able to enlighten me further as I have done many blood tests, camera into the stomach and CT scan. So far its a mystery illness.

Write the blog!
Wow I haven't written anything since 5 January! We have put our house on the market and so far had lots of people round. Just need someone to say they want it! When will that happen. In God's time, not ours!

A Walk in East Kent
Ian and I decided to brave the cold winds today and go for a walk, as we need to get some exercise. We drove to Reculver at the top of East Kent (above Canterbury) with the two towers. It used to be a Roman garrison. Walked along the coast but it was freezing, although the sky was blue and sunny. Went to a nearby pub and had a very good coffee which warmed us up. Then drove on to St Nicholas at Wade where we did a one and half hour walk across fields and farmland. It was about half past two when we arrived back in the village and unfortunately the pub there had stopped doing lunch. Not too drastic as we had eaten a bag of crisps on the walk. Got home at about 3.45pm and had tea and blackberry muffin. Got smoked haddock for supper.

A Day out to Essex

Went to Maldon to have a look at All Saints Maldon which is the town church. It looked OK. Then to All Saints, Little Totham which is quite small but seemed like there was quite a lot going on there. Then on to Great Totham where we had a very nice lunch at the Bull Pub which is modern and stylish. Went to St Peters Great Totham and there was a man hoovering the carpet - seemed very friendly. It seems really strange that it was nearly a year ago that we went to Valerie Loveland Estate Agents in fact it was Saturday 14 February because when we came back we went to the Valentines Party at the church. So it was a almost a year ago that we were driving these same lanes and roads, not realising that we would be back again! It really funny how things happen. Went to see St Bartholomews at Wickham Bishops which I like very much. But we shall see......
